We are looking for curious, adaptable technologists, and problem solvers who are passionate about creating a positive impact on the world! You will join as a Senior Software Engineer to be a part of core product. This role plays a crucial role in everything the team does and directly impacts the value it brings to customers.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of backend software development experience, focusing on writing and maintaining production-grade software that is designed to be performant, scalable, and resilient.
- Proficiency in the Python programming language and experience with common Python web frameworks like Flask and Django is a plus.
- Understanding of HTTP APIs, Message brokers, relational databases like PostgreSQL, and working in containerized and Linux environments in the cloud (we use AWS).
- Prior experience of working closely with product, design, and customer-facing teams, building products for 0-1 and 1-10 journeys.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.

- Develop and ship high-quality, production-ready code to enhance the experience for both internal and external customers.
- Make design decisions based on performance, scalability, and future expansion.
- Apply first principle thinking to understand insurance rating algorithms and scoring models, solving them in a tech-first way.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team and drive alignment with non-tech stakeholders for business initiatives and deliverables.
- Contribute to and consistently raise the bar for engineering best-practices, such as coding standards and writing well-tested, extensible, and reusable code.
