Role Description The Business Development Manager – SEDEX & GRS will lead business growth initiatives for social compliance (SEDEX) and sustainability standards (such as GRS) by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and expanding PQSmitra’s presence in target markets. This full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai involves prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting client meetings and presentations, and preparing tailored proposals and commercial offers. The role includes collaborating with consulting and technical teams to align solutions with client requirements, tracking industry trends and regulatory changes, and contributing to go-to-market plans and campaigns. The Business Development Manager will also manage a sales pipeline, maintain accurate CRM records, support contract negotiations, and provide regular reporting on business development performance to leadership.
Qualifications
- Business development and sales skills, including lead generation, client relationship management, and pipeline management.
- Knowledge of SEDEX, GRS, and related sustainability, social compliance, and audit standards, with the ability to communicate their business value to clients.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with proficiency in preparing proposals and commercial offers.
- Analytical and research abilities to understand market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in sustainability and compliance.
- Collaboration and organizational skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certification in sustainability/compliance is an advantage.
- Prior experience in consulting, sustainability services, audits, or management systems, preferably within SEDEX, GRS, or similar frameworks.
- Comfort working in an on-site, fast-paced environment in Mumbai, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
