Role Description The Fashion Tech Pack Designer will create comprehensive tech packs that clearly communicate garment specifications to production teams, including measurements, construction details, materials, trims, and labeling. Day-to-day responsibilities include translating design sketches into technical flats, refining construction details, collaborating with designers on fit and functionality, and ensuring all technical information is consistent and accurate. The role involves reviewing samples, documenting fit comments, and updating tech packs based on fittings and production feedback. The Designer will also work closely with pattern makers and manufacturers to troubleshoot construction issues and optimize designs for production. This is a full-time remote role, requiring reliable digital communication, organized file management, and the ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Strong Technical Design skills, including the ability to create clear technical flats and detailed specification sheets.
- Solid knowledge of Garment Construction and Fitting, with experience reviewing samples and communicating fit adjustments.
- Proficiency in Pattern Making and understanding of how patterns translate into final garments.
- Background or familiarity with Architecture, product design, or other structured design disciplines that support precision and attention to detail.
- Experience using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CAD tools, or PLM systems) for tech pack creation.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy in documentation, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with designers, pattern makers, and manufacturers.
- Relevant education in fashion design, technical design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in apparel production.
