About the role
This is a broad, hands-on role covering everything from website and software product design through to graphic design for social and paid campaigns. You'll work directly with client brand guidelines, help shape and maintain design systems, and use AI tools as a core part of how you design and build.
What you'll be doing
- Designing websites and software products, from concept through to detailed UI
- Producing graphic design work for social media campaigns, paid ads, and presentations
- Building and maintaining full design systems for clients, ensuring consistency across products and channels
- Working within large, complex brand guidelines and applying them accurately across formats
- Using AI design and coding tools day to day, as a standard part of your workflow rather than an add-on
- Marking up your own designs in HTML/CSS with the help of AI coding tools, so work can move to development faster and closer to spec
Tools:
- Figma
- Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (After Effects or Premiere a plus)
- PowerPoint
- Google Slides and Google Docs
- Claude Design
Skills and experience:
- UI design for apps and web, including design systems and a solid grasp of usability and accessibility standards
- Graphic design for digital channels: social media campaigns, paid ads, and presentations (print work is not a current priority)
- Front-end markup / HTML skills, able to code up your own work
- Experience creating full design systems from scratch
- Comfortable working with large, complex client brand guidelines
- Basic UX design knowledge
Nice to have:
- Brand and logo identity design experience
- Illustration skills
- Video editing
On AI and front-end skills
We expect designers in this role to use AI tools (such as Claude) to turn their own designs into working front-end markup. This isn't a request to code at the level of a dedicated developer, you won't be expected to build backend logic, manage a codebase, or own production infrastructure. What we do expect is that, with AI assistance, you can take your own Figma designs and produce clean, accurate HTML/CSS yourself, rather than handing over static mockups and stepping away. This shortens the gap between design and build, cuts down on handoff friction, and means designs are more likely to ship the way you intended.
