Role Description The Facade Designer will work full time on-site in Chennai, contributing to the design and detailing of building facades for a variety of projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing façade drawings and 3D models, developing technical details, and coordinating designs with structural and architectural requirements. The role involves reviewing project specifications, assisting in material selection, and ensuring that façade designs comply with local codes and performance standards. The Facade Designer will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external partners, support design revisions based on feedback, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in façade design and building envelope detailing, with the ability to translate architectural concepts into practical technical solutions.
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools) for producing accurate drawings and models.
- Knowledge of construction materials, façade systems (e.g., curtain walls, cladding, glazing), and basic structural principles.
- Understanding of relevant building codes, safety standards, and performance requirements related to façades.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and quality in technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in façade design or building envelope projects is preferred but motivated candidates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply.
