About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our fully remote team at Textellent, Inc. This role is pivotal in driving the development of scalable and high-performance backend systems that underpin our SMS marketing platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and Spring Boot, with a passion for leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflows. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and AI specialists, to deliver impactful features that improve our platform’s capabilities. Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess 4 to 7 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building and maintaining robust backend systems. Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot is essential, along with a solid understanding of SQL and experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Lovable is highly desirable, as is an interest in exploring AI-driven development practices. Candidates should have prior remote working experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment. A proactive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and a passion for innovation are key attributes we seek.
Responsibilities
The Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core backend functionalities of our SMS marketing platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining backend systems using Java and Spring Boot frameworks to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Designing, optimizing, and managing relational databases with SQL to support platform features and data integrity.
- Deploying and managing applications on AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, SNS, and SQS to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub and Jenkins to streamline development and release processes.
- Utilizing AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and deployment cycles, enhancing productivity and code quality.
- Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-impact features, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall platform performance.
- Staying updated with emerging technologies and integrating AI-driven innovations into development workflows to optimize processes.
