Council Members play a key role in shaping the festival’s direction, ensuring it remains relevant, community-centered, and sustainable.
Role Description The Council Member role at Cresta Festival is a part-time position with a hybrid work arrangement, based in Dwarka with flexibility for some work from home. Council Members participate in regular meetings to review festival plans, provide strategic input on programming, and support decision-making on partnerships and community initiatives. They collaborate with other council members and the organizing team to evaluate proposals, assess impact, and maintain the festival’s creative and ethical standards. The role involves occasional on-site presence during key events, stakeholder interactions, and public-facing activities such as panel discussions or community forums. Council Members also help strengthen the festival’s network by engaging with artists, sponsors, and local organizations.
Qualifications
- Ability to contribute to strategic planning, governance, and long-term vision for a cultural or community-focused organization.
- Experience in arts, culture, community engagement, education, or related fields, with an understanding of inclusive and ethical practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, listen actively, and build consensus within diverse groups.
- Capacity to review proposals, provide constructive feedback, and make informed decisions based on data, community needs, and creative merit.
- Comfort with hybrid work, including attending meetings in Dwarka and using digital tools for remote collaboration.
- Prior experience serving on councils, boards, committees, or advisory panels is beneficial but not required.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and an interest in supporting emerging talent and local community initiatives.
