Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Battery Manufacturing Engineer role based in Mumbai. The Battery Manufacturing Engineer will oversee and optimize production processes for lithium-ion cells and battery packs, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and refining manufacturing workflows, selecting and validating equipment, and monitoring key process parameters. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, supporting root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to reduce defects and downtime. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams in quality, R&D, and maintenance, prepare technical documentation, and support scaling up new products from pilot to mass production.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering for process design, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Practical knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Machining related to battery components, assemblies, and production lines.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with the ability to apply mechanical principles to battery manufacturing and equipment selection.
- Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments; exposure to battery, electronics, or automotive sectors is an advantage.
- Proficiency in process control tools (e.g., SPC), lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and safety standards relevant to energy storage systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills, with attention to detail and product quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site in a fast-paced production environment.
