Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Forge Shop Production Engineer role based in Palghar. The role involves overseeing day-to-day forge shop operations, including monitoring production processes, coordinating workflow, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Production Engineer will plan and schedule forging activities, optimize resource utilization, and troubleshoot process issues to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. Responsibilities include collaborating with quality, maintenance, and design teams, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining production documentation and reports. The role also requires engaging with shop-floor personnel, providing technical guidance, and supporting compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Production Engineering, with experience in forge shop or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to diagnose production issues and implement process improvements.
- Production Planning skills to manage scheduling, capacity planning, and coordination of materials and manpower.
- Quality Control skills to ensure products meet international standards and internal specifications.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and guiding shop-floor personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production , ADFT.
- Knowledge of forging processes, metallurgical properties of steels, and safety practices in heavy industry.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Palghar and manage shift-based operations.
