Job Description – ETL Tester
Role: ETL Tester
Experience: 7–10 Years
Location: Trivandrum / Pune (4 Days in a Month – Work From Office)
Contract 2 hire
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester with strong expertise in data validation, data quality assurance, and modern cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing large-scale data migration and transformation projects built on Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
The candidate should possess strong analytical skills to validate complex ETL workflows, reconcile data across multiple systems, and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout the data lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end ETL Testing and Data Qualiy Validation across enterprise data platforms.
- Validate source-to-target data movement using Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents.
- Execute data reconciliation and perform detailed data comparisons between source and target systems.
- Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Validate data transformations implemented using PySpark, Databricks SQL, and Azure data pipelines.
- Test data ingestion, processing, and reporting layers built on Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Defect Retesting.
- Validate data pipelines developed using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and data stored in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Verify Power BI reports and dashboards against underlying data sources.
- Perform SQL-based data validation and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Business Users to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Track, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.

- Strong experience in ETL/Data Warehouse Testing.
- Expertise in Data Quality Testing and Validation.
- Experience in Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) validation.
- Hands-on experience with Data Reconciliation and Data Profiling.
- Strong understanding of ETL workflows, transformations, and data migration testing.
