IEN, Project Consultants to Manchester Metropolitan University, invite interest from suitable candidate from similar industry to fill up one vacant post of Country Manager (India) to manage a team to grow recruitment of International Students to study at the University’s Campus and to support partnerships development with high quality local institutions in Indian sub-continent to promote students recruitment through advanced placement in degree programmes of the University.

Job Description – Country Manager (India)
Main Purpose of the Post
To lead and coordinate Manchester Metropolitan University's recruitment, conversion and partnership activities in India, delivering agreed student recruitment targets and supporting the development of strategic relationships that enhance the University's profile and reputation.
The postholder will provide leadership to the India team, drive market growth through responsible recruitment practices, and act as the University's senior representative in India. The role will contribute to the development and delivery of market plans, provide strategic market intelligence, and support the University's UKVI compliance and Basic Compliance Assessment (BCA) objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership and Market Development
1.1 Act as an ambassador for Manchester Metropolitan University, representing the institution and promoting its values, reputation and academic strengths across India.
1.2 Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the annual India market plan, ensuring alignment with the University's international recruitment strategy and business objectives.
1.3 Use market intelligence, competitor analysis and performance data to identify opportunities for growth and to support the ongoing development of the University's India strategy.
1.4 Contribute to annual operational planning, budgeting and reporting processes and ensure that activity is delivered effectively and within agreed timescales.
1.5 Provide regular market intelligence and strategic advice to colleagues across the University on developments in the Indian higher education landscape.
2. Recruitment and Conversion
2.1 Lead the delivery of agreed recruitment objectives for India, taking ownership of applications, deposits, enrolments and conversion performance against agreed targets.
2.2 Work closely with colleagues across Recruitment, Conversion, Admissions and Marketing teams to maximise applicant conversion throughout the recruitment cycles.
2.3 Monitor market trends and student behaviour to identify opportunities to improve recruitment performance and student quality.
2.4 Contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns and recruitment activities, ensuring maximum return on investment.
2.5 Develop and implement innovative approaches to increase student recruitment and strengthen Manchester Met's market position.
3. Partnership and Stakeholder Management
3.1 Develop and maintain strategic relationships with schools, universities, pathway providers, sponsors, government organisations, alumni and other stakeholders that support the University's recruitment and partnership objectives.
3.2 Lead the strategic management of recruitment partners and agents across India, ensuring strong performance, responsible recruitment practices and alignment with the University's quality frameworks.
3.3 Support the identification, development and implementation of new partnership opportunities in accordance with institutional priorities.
3.4 Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders across Faculties and Professional Services to support the delivery of recruitment and partnership objectives.
4. Agent Management and Responsible Recruitment
4.1 Support the management and development of the University's agent network in India, including agent performance monitoring, training and relationship management.
4.2 Promote and uphold responsible recruitment practices and contribute to the implementation of the Agent Quality Framework and other institutional quality standards.
4.3 Identify emerging risks and opportunities within the market and recommend appropriate interventions to maintain recruitment quality and performance.
4.4 Support the review and management of underperforming or high-risk recruitment partners.
5. Compliance and Risk Management
5.1 Support the University's UKVI compliance and Basic Compliance Assessment objectives through responsible recruitment practices and effective market management.
5.2 Monitor visa refusal patterns, market risks and non-enrolment trends and work with colleagues across the University to implement appropriate mitigation measures.
5.3 Contribute to maintaining high standards of student quality and compliance in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
6. Team Performance and People Management
6.1 Manage and develop the India team, providing clear direction, coaching and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
6.2 Support recruitment, induction, appraisal and performance management responsibilities where required and in accordance with University’s and IEN policies.
6.3 Promote a collaborative and inclusive culture and support succession planning and talent development within the team.
6.4 Ensure that resources are deployed effectively to support agreed priorities and deliver value for money.
7. Operational Management
7.1 Oversee local operational support for admissions and application processing activities.
7.2 Use University systems and performance data to monitor recruitment pipelines, forecast outcomes and inform strategic decision-making.
7.3 Ensure accurate and timely reporting against agreed KPIs and market plans.
7.4 Manage the logistics and support arrangements for visits to India by University staff and senior stakeholders.
7.5 Maintain effective communication and reporting arrangements with the International Office and any designated external representatives.
8. Cultural Expertise and Institutional Support
8.1 Support the University's understanding of Indian culture and the Indian educational and business environment.
8.2 Provide advice to colleagues on best practice, local market developments and culturally appropriate approaches to engagement.
8.3 Work with Faculties and Professional Services colleagues to contextualise and strengthen the University's academic offer within the Indian market.
9. General
9.1 Undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post as may reasonably be required.
9.2 Comply with University policies and procedures and actively contribute to the achievement of the University's strategic objectives.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
• Significant (at least 5 years) experience in international recruitment or higher education.
• Experience managing agents and partnerships in India.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering against recruitment targets and KPIs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
• Knowledge of UK higher education.
• Understanding of UKVI, AQF and CRM systems.
Qualifications
At least a Graduate from a leading Indian/UK University. Post Graduate qualifications desirable
Others
Fluent English and Hindi speaking and writing.
