Role Description The Garment Merchandiser is a full-time, on-site role based in Patel Nagar. This role involves managing the entire merchandising cycle, including product development, sampling, costing, order confirmation, and production follow-up. The Garment Merchandiser will coordinate with buyers and suppliers on specifications, prices, delivery schedules, and quality requirements, while maintaining accurate documentation and tracking order status. The role includes daily communication with factories, monitoring production progress, resolving issues related to fabric, trims, and construction, and ensuring that all shipments meet quality and timeline expectations. The Garment Merchandiser will also analyze market trends and client feedback to support new product ideas and improve existing styles.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, fabrics, trims, and quality standards.
- Experience in merchandising, sourcing, and vendor management within the apparel or textile industry.
- Ability to coordinate sampling, costing, production follow-up, and shipment tracking effectively.
- Proficient in using MS Excel and other office tools for order tracking, reporting, and data management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple orders and timelines simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, Apparel Production, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar merchandising role; experience with export houses or buying offices is an advantage.
