WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop our Welfare Assessment Protocol into a rigorous framework for measuring fish welfare across farm types and regions
- Design and run field studies, such as comparing farms in our program with farms outside it
- Manage data collection and analysis, and spend regular time on farms yourself
- Lead and train 1-2 local associates who carry out assessments
- Recommend which programs to scale, adjust, or stop
- Over time, build and lead a small Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A rigorous, analytical mind, comfortable with questions that have no clean answers
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong data skills: complex spreadsheets and basic statistics
- Clear communication of uncertain findings in plain language
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team
- Enthusiasm for fieldwork in rural Andhra Pradesh
- Fluency in English
A bonus(ideal, but not mandatory): Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) or field research experience, people management, effective altruism involvement, a background in animal welfare, aquaculture, or a quantitative field, or fluency in Telugu.
No specific degree is required, and we'll support you in building M&E skills. As this is a senior role, most successful candidates will have several years of relevant experience.
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary: INR 1.3 – 2.7 lakh per month, depending on experience.
Plus, paid accommodation in the field, work travel covered, up to INR 25,000 a year towards health insurance, up to 40 days' leave plus ~25 holidays, and parental leave.
