Role Description The Volunteer role at JSW Steel in Coimbatore is a full-time, on-site position supporting community outreach, sustainability initiatives, and operational activities. Volunteers may assist in organizing local engagement programs, supporting environmental awareness campaigns, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver projects that align with JSW Steel’s sustainability goals. Daily tasks can include data collection and documentation, helping manage events and workshops, and providing on-ground support for social responsibility initiatives. The role also involves collaborating with staff to communicate project updates, maintain records, and contribute ideas to enhance community impact. Volunteers are expected to demonstrate reliability, openness to learning, and a strong interest in sustainable development and industrial operations.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in sustainability, community development, and industrial operations, with the ability to contribute to social and environmental initiatives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with community members, internal teams, and external partners.
- Organizational and time-management skills to assist with events, documentation, and project coordination in a structured and timely manner.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with office applications for data entry, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to work on-site in Coimbatore in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment and follow established guidelines and procedures.
- Prior volunteer, internship, or project experience in social work, sustainability, or industrial settings is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Educational background in any discipline; studies related to social sciences, environmental science, engineering, or management are beneficial.
