Role Description The VoIP Engineer will work on-site in Delhi, India in a full-time capacity, designing, implementing, and maintaining Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure to support high-quality communication services. Daily responsibilities include configuring and managing VoIP systems, telephony platforms, and related networking components, as well as monitoring performance, call quality, and system reliability. The role involves diagnosing and resolving voice and telephony issues, providing technical support to internal teams and clients, and coordinating with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders when necessary. The VoIP Engineer will also contribute to documentation, capacity planning, security hardening, and continuous improvement of voice solutions aligned with SmoothAi’s AI-powered products.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Voice over IP (VoIP) and Telephony skills for configuring, managing, and optimizing voice solutions.
- Candidates should possess solid Networking skills, including IP routing, switching, QoS, and familiarity with SIP, RTP, and related protocols.
- Candidates should possess proven Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for diagnosing issues, performing root cause analysis, and resolving incidents efficiently.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Relevant experience with VoIP platforms (e.g., Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Cisco, or similar) and telephony systems is beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Experience with Linux-based systems, scripting or automation, and basic security best practices for voice and network infrastructure is an advantage.
