Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Video Editor specializing in short-form content and reels. The Video Editor will be responsible for assembling raw footage, selecting impactful clips, and editing content into compelling, fast-paced reels aligned with KRAM TV’s ground-reality reporting. Day-to-day tasks include trimming and sequencing footage, applying color grading, integrating graphics and motion elements, syncing audio, and optimizing videos for digital platforms and social media. The role also involves collaborating with field reporters and producers to maintain journalistic integrity, adapting content for multiple formats, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic news and storytelling environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing, with experience in short-form and social media video formats.
- Candidates should possess skills in Video Color Grading and basic color correction to maintain visual clarity and consistency across diverse field footage.
- Candidates should possess skills in Motion Graphics and Graphics to create engaging titles, overlays, lower thirds, and visual storytelling elements.
- Candidates should have proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with social media video specifications.
- Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, strong storytelling instincts, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience in news, documentary, or field reporting environments and knowledge of ethical journalism practices are beneficial.
- A relevant diploma or degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
