About Demos Project Private Limited
Demos Project is a political strategy and operations firm working across public policy, grassroots campaigns, and digital transformation. We combine strategic thinking with on-ground execution to create meaningful and lasting impact. As we expand our operations in Bengaluru, we’re building a dynamic team to drive an exciting new project. You’ll work closely with the Demos leadership, take ownership of key responsibilities, and gain hands on experience at the intersection of strategy, politics, policy, and people.
Role Overview
The Video Editor will be the hands-on force behind the project's digital video output, turning raw footage and briefs into sharp, publish ready content across formats. The role covers end-to-end editing, from rough cuts to final polished exports, for a range of campaign and public communication needs.
Beyond technical editing, the role calls for a feel for pacing and narrative, comfort with high-volume output on tight timelines, and enough knowledge on Karnataka’s political and cultural landscape, to make editing choices that land with the right audience.
Key Responsibilities
1. High Quality Video Editing
• Edit and deliver professional, engaging videos for digital consumption, including campaign messaging, speeches, montage sequences, field footage, event recaps, and outreach videos.
• Handle transitions, pacing, background scoring, voice syncing, text animation, and overlay insertions in line with campaign tone and language.
2. Platform Specific Adaptation
• Export and customise final videos for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and X, ensuring correct resolution, aspect ratio, compression, subtitles, and branding.
• Work across vertical (9:16), square (1:1), and landscape (16:9) formats, with optimised thumbnails and CTA elements.
3. Visual & Narrative Enhancement
• Add accurate subtitles in Kannada and English, with attention to tone and readability.
• Use graphic enhancements, transitions, kinetic text, and sound design to boost engagement.
• Integrate AI-generated visuals or animation clips into storyboards, working alongside AI editors and graphic designers where relevant.
4. Workflow & Asset Management
• Maintain an organised project structure, archive, and master folder for all edits.
• Coordinate with the Creative Lead for review loops, feedback rounds, and approvals.
• Keep version control, consistent file naming, and secure storage for all video assets.
5. Team Coordination & Support
• Help maintain consistent editing standards and turnaround timelines for recurring or urgent edits.
• Stay in sync with the design team and copywriters to keep narrative consistent across formats.
6. Delivery Oriented Execution
• Provide real time edits during major events, press interactions, or public appearances when required.
• Deliver rapid response videos under tight deadlines, balancing speed with quality.
• Own daily, weekly, and milestone based video deliverables as planned by the team lead.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Video Editing, Visual Communication, Media Production, or related field.
Experience
• Fresher to 2 years of experience as a video editor; hands-on work in political communication, media, or creative agencies is a plus.
• A portfolio or showreel demonstrating strong editing work is essential.
Technical Skills
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
• Experience in creating AI generated, story driven videos using modern AI tools.
• Working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator for motion graphics, kinetic text, and transitions.
• Comfortable with mobile friendly or rapid short-form tools such as CapCut or InShot.
• Capable of basic color correction, audio mastering, and video compression for different platforms.
Creative Attributes
• Strong storytelling instincts and a keen visual sense for engaging, emotive content.
• Awareness of Karnataka's regional nuances, culture, and audience preferences.
• Disciplined and organised in managing video pipelines and daily workload.
Work Expectations
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or on-call during campaign escalations.
• Comfortable handling time sensitive and confidential material.
• Able to manage multiple videos at different stages simultaneously.
