Role Description The Veterinary Pathologist will work full time on-site at the New Delhi laboratory, providing expert diagnostic support for a variety of animal species. In this role, the individual will perform gross and microscopic examination of tissues, interpret histopathology and cytology results, and prepare clear, timely diagnostic reports for clinicians and partners. Daily responsibilities include correlating clinical findings with laboratory data, collaborating with haematology, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics teams, and participating in quality control and assurance activities to maintain NABL and ISO/IEC standards. The role also involves consulting with veterinary practitioners, contributing to case discussions, supporting the development of diagnostic protocols, and assisting in training team members on pathology best practices. The Veterinary Pathologist will help advance VETLAB’s mission by ensuring accurate diagnoses that guide effective treatment and improve animal health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Advanced veterinary pathology expertise, including experience in clinical pathology, histopathology, and cytology, with strong diagnostic interpretation skills.
- Solid grounding in laboratory disciplines such as haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, parasitology, endocrinology, and molecular diagnosis.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and clinically useful pathology reports, and to communicate complex findings effectively to veterinary professionals.
- Experience working in accredited diagnostic laboratories, with familiarity with NABL or ISO/IEC 17025 standards, quality control, and standard operating procedures.
- Commitment to animal welfare, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills in high-volume, time-sensitive diagnostic environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Masters of Veterinary Patholgy and minimum 2-3 years experience in similar field
