Role Description The Veterinary Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhandup. This role involves providing daily care to animals, including feeding, grooming, monitoring health, and maintaining clean and safe enclosures. The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinary professionals during examinations and treatments, helps with basic procedures, and ensures accurate record-keeping. Day-to-day responsibilities also include guiding visitors and pet guardians on proper animal care, assisting with client education initiatives, and contributing to animal welfare outreach activities. The role requires working closely with the team to maintain high standards of care, safety, and compassion for all animals under the foundation’s supervision.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including handling, feeding, hygiene, and basic health monitoring.
- Ability to provide Client Education and Customer Service, with clear communication and a compassionate, respectful approach to pet guardians and visitors.
- Foundational understanding of Veterinary Medicine and willingness to support veterinarians and other animal health professionals with routine procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a field-based, community-focused environment.
- Basic record-keeping and organizational skills, with attention to detail and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Prior experience in an animal shelter, clinic, or related setting is beneficial; relevant vocational training or certification in animal care or veterinary assistance is an advantage.
