The role
Commercial and schedule authority over every execution vendor. You are the single point of contact for structure, civil, electrical and I&C vendors — owning scope, timeline, material availability and reporting discipline, so that no project slips for reasons that could have been seen coming. Technical acceptance sits with the Manager, Site Engineering & Civil Design; you and he certify vendor bills jointly.
Vendor management
- Communicate the agreed scope of work to each vendor and hold them to it.
- Resolve vendor issues across structure, civil, electrical and I&C workstreams.
- Own MMS structure issues end to end — supply, site quality escalation, erection queries, replacements.
- Track vendor progress against the project schedule; flag deviation early with a recovery plan.
- Certify vendor bills on schedule and scope compliance, alongside the Site Engineering Manager's technical sign-off. Payment moves only when both clear.
Site progress & reporting
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify work is progressing to correct technique and timeline.
- Check that civil installation matches the issued drawings; escalate deviations to Design and QA rather than resolving them yourself.
- Ensure Site Engineers submit accurate daily project reports without being chased.
- Work through Cluster Heads to ensure Site Engineers understand their responsibilities and the project plan.
Material & interface coordination
- Obtain BOMs from the Design Head and convert them into site material requirements.
- Stay connected with Procurement and Logistics for timely delivery — neither function is yours to own, but delivery slippage is yours to surface and solve.
- Communicate site stock position accurately and on time.
- Reconcile site stock against reports with the Accounts team.
Requirements
- Graduate — BE / B.Tech or Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
3+ years in vendor management, project coordination or site execution, ideally solar or infrastructure EPC.
- Working understanding of solar plant construction — MMS, civil foundations, electrical installation.
- Strong follow-through; firm with vendors, persistent with internal teams.
- Fluent in Hindi and English; competent in Excel and reporting.
- Frequent travel to project sites across Rajasthan.
