Company Description National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) is a dedicated innovation hub for the port and maritime sector, focusing on advanced technological solutions and new ideas. Serving as the technology arm of the Ministry of Shipping, it supports ports, the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), and related institutions with applied research and technical expertise. The centre addresses complex industry challenges through scientific support, education, and technology transfer. NTCPWC represents a significant step toward building indigenous, cutting‑edge capabilities for India’s port and maritime infrastructure, offering a dynamic environment for emerging talent.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Unity Developer – Intern role based in Kanchipuram. The intern will work with the development team to build and refine interactive simulations and game-like experiences relevant to ports, waterways, and coastal applications using Unity. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing gameplay features, creating and adjusting levels and environments, integrating mobile and AR functionalities, and writing clean, maintainable code following object-oriented programming principles. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, collaborating with domain experts and designers, and documenting technical workflows to support ongoing projects and future enhancements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Mobile Game Development and experience building interactive applications using Unity or similar engines.
- Candidates should possess skills in Augmented Reality (AR) and have the ability to integrate AR features into mobile or simulation projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in Level Design, including creating engaging environments, user flows, and in-engine scene setup.
- Candidates should possess skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Programming, preferably in C# or a closely related language.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools and workflows in a research-oriented environment.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic understanding of 3D assets, physics, or simulation concepts will be beneficial.
