- Update inventory records regularly using Excel, ERP, or inventory management systems.
- Enforce proper labelling, categorization, and storage of all components.
- Perform periodic physical stock verifications and inventory audits.
- Maintain minimum stock levels and initiate material requirement requests proactively.
- Track component usage for UAV builds, testing, repair, and production activities.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of all material movement and maintain traceability of critical components including batteries, avionics, and sensors.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for UAV components and engineering materials.
- Request quotations and collect technical and commercial details from suppliers.
- Compare quotations to support procurement decisions.
- Follow up with vendors regarding availability, delivery timelines, quality issues, and technical clarifications.
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and technical specifications.
- Maintain an updated vendor database and procurement records.
- Coordinate with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inventory reports, stock status reports, and component databases.
- Manage and update the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Maintain purchase records, invoices, and material documentation.
- Prepare material requirement reports for upcoming projects.
- Enforce proper documentation standards for UAV builds and prototype development.
Mandatory Requirements
- A solid, foundational understanding of UAV systems and electronic hardware.
- Hands-on experience in UAV assembly, integration, or maintenance.
- Proven ability to identify UAV components and understand their practical applications.
- Prior experience in inventory management and stock control.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components and delicate hardware handling.
- Excellent coordination skills to interface effectively with external vendors and internal teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities independently.
- Full willingness to work in both workshop and outdoor field environments.
Technical Skills Preferred
- Experience with UAV assembly and integration, specifically utilizing Pixhawk flight controllers, Mission Planner, and QGroundControl.
- Practical knowledge of GPS and sensor calibration, ESC and motor configuration, and telemetry systems.
- A basic understanding of UAV electrical systems, power distribution architectures, and battery management safety (specifically Li-ion, LiPo, and LiFePO4 chemistries).
- Hands-on experience in soldering, repairing, wiring harness preparation, and connector crimping.
- Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
Good to Have
- Experience in a UAV R&D, manufacturing, or prototype development environment.
- Experience managing technical inventory within an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of ERP or inventory management software.
- Experience with BOM preparation and revision management.
- Familiarity with drone testing and field operations.
- A valid two-wheeler driving license and willingness to travel occasionally for procurement or field support.
Educational Qualifications: Educational qualification is not the primary selection criterion. Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in UAV systems, electronics, inventory management, and technical operations will be preferred.
A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical fields will be considered an advantage.
Ideal Candidate Profile: We are looking for an individual who understands UAV hardware beyond just basic inventory handling. You must be able to identify technical requirements before procurement, maintain exceptionally organized stock records, communicate effectively with both vendors and engineering teams, and take absolute ownership of materials, tools, and equipment on the floor.
