JOB TITLE: Senior Injection Mold Designer / Senior Tool Designer/Tool Designer.
LOCATION: SUBA PLASTICS PVT LTD, COIMBATORE.
Education Qualification: CIPET (PDMT & PM-PMD), BE & B Tech in Tool and design.
Experience in automotive, medical, consumer goods, or packaging industries is often preferred.
Experience: Typically, 5–10+ years of experience in injection Mold design.
JOB SUMMARY:
An Injection Moulding Junior Designer is an entry-level mechanical design role focused on creating and improving plastic parts and Molds used in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 2D drawings and 3D models of plastic components and molds using CAD software in SolidWorks.
- Assist senior designers in mold design and product development.
- Ensure designs are suitable for injection molding (wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, etc.).
- Modify existing designs based on customer requirements or engineering changes.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Coordinate with tooling, production, and quality teams.
- Support Mold trials and resolve design-related issues.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of injection molding processes.
- Understanding of plastic materials and their properties.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is an advantage.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
