Role Description This full-time, on-site Tool & Die Maker role is based in Khed and supports the company’s manufacturing and production activities. The Tool & Die Maker will interpret technical drawings and specifications to design, build, modify, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in production. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment, ensuring precise measurements and tolerances, and performing routine inspections of tools to identify wear or defects. The role also involves troubleshooting tooling issues on the shop floor, collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve tool performance, and following safety, quality, and maintenance procedures. The Tool & Die Maker is expected to document work performed, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help minimize downtime through timely repairs and adjustments.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in tool and die making, including reading engineering drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and working with a variety of metals and materials.
- Proficiency in operating conventional and CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines, surface grinders) and understanding machining processes and tolerances.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures, with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, quality standards, and safety practices in an industrial or workshop environment.
- Relevant technical education or vocational training in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; apprenticeship or prior shop-floor experience is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work hands-on in an on-site setting in Khed, manage time effectively, and collaborate with production and engineering teams.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and technologies.
