Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs for milling and machining operations. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling and machining parameters, and preparing programs to manufacture precision components that meet automotive industry standards. The CNC Programmer collaborates with machinists and production teams to troubleshoot issues, improve cycle times, and ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The role also involves verifying programs through simulations or trial runs, documenting processes, and maintaining safety and quality compliance on the shop floor. Continuous improvement of machining methods, coordination with design and quality teams, and adherence to project timelines are essential aspects of this position.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in CNC Programming and Programming for multi-axis machining centers.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machining and Milling, including tool selection, cutting parameters, and process optimization.
- Candidates should possess skills in interpreting Technical Drawing, including GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
- Relevant experience in CNC operations within automotive or precision manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens), and basic metrology instruments is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely on the shop floor, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet production deadlines.
