We are looking for the Founding Product Manager who can work closely with customers, founders, and engineers to understand problems, write clear requirements, and help the team shape the product to disrupt mechanical workflows without disrupting them
This is a hands-on role. You will need to understand how the manufacturing industry works, how the CAD industry works, prototype your ideas, write PRDs and evals and run day to day sprints with our brilliant engineering team.
In this role, you will:
Own product execution
- Turn customer needs and company priorities into clear product specs, timelines, evals and prototypes
- Work with engineering, design, operations, and customer-facing teams to make sure the right things ship with the right quality.
Understand customers and the product
- Speak with customers and turn feedback into clear product requirements.
- Build a strong understanding of CAD workflows, engineering drawings, manufacturing needs, and where our product can improve.
Work closely with engineering
- Help the software team understand product behavior, edge cases, and trade-offs.
- Reproduce product issues, explain them clearly, and help the team prepare features for release.
Improve how the team works
- Improve how we handle product planning, customer feedback, QA, documentation, and release reviews.
- Reduce confusion, give clear feedback, and help the team move faster without adding unnecessary processes.
Note: Given that we are a startup, the exact job match will depend on your skills and interests. There is always too much to do.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in product centric roles
- Experience working closely with engineering teams and shipping software products.
- You should have used CAD or been exposed to the mechanical/CAD industry in some capacity
- Strong ability to prototype quickly and know what “great” looks like based on your understanding of users, break that down into milestones and communicate to the engineering team.
- Ready to do your own homework to understand the tech the team is building well enough to map it to user workflows and what to build next (this is especially important because unlike a typical saas business, a lot of what we build is simply limited by the hardness of the problem since this has never been built before)
- Good communication skills - especially when everyone in the team has different communication styles, you should be able to translate a == b
- Ability to work with limited prior information and ambiguity
- Working in a startup or having started your own business
- Working on-site with a fast-moving team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in 3D, CAD, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or industrial automation.
- Founder-level ambition - either you've started something yourself, or you're building toward eventually leading a product (or a company) as a founder.
- Experience with building products users (ideally b2b users) love
- Experience with setting evals for AI agents
- You have worked with deeply technical engineering teams
- You live and breathe claude code (or replit - we don't judge!)
