Role Description The Testing and Commissioning Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The engineer will perform electrical testing and commissioning activities for power plants and substations, including verification of protection schemes, equipment functionality, and system performance. Daily responsibilities include preparing test plans, executing tests on electrical equipment and systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and documenting results and findings. The role involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely and compliant commissioning, adherence to safety standards, and smooth handover of systems to operations. The engineer will also support calibration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of testing procedures and tools.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Testing and Testing of power equipment and systems.
- Candidates should possess skills relevant to Commissioning Engineers, including planning, executing, and validating commissioning activities.
- Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Electrical Engineering for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in power plants, substations, or industrial electrical systems is highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, electrical codes, and industry regulations.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site within multidisciplinary teams.
