Technical Architect – Data & Analytics / SaaS
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and evolution of large-scale, data-driven SaaS and analytics platforms. The role will focus on designing scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient architectures capable of handling high-volume data processing, complex computations, and real-time analytics.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in distributed systems, data platforms, cloud architecture, and scalable SaaS solutions, with hands-on experience designing enterprise-grade solutions on AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable architectures for large-scale SaaS, analytics, and data-driven platforms.
- Define architecture for high-volume data processing, complex computations, and real-time analytics.
- Design and implement distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Work closely with engineering, data engineering, data science, product, and platform teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Define technology architecture, system components, integration patterns, and data flows.
- Evaluate technologies and architectural approaches based on scalability, performance, reliability, security, and cost.
- Design data pipelines and architectures supporting batch and real-time data processing.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
- Ensure systems meet scalability, availability, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Create and maintain Architecture Views, Technology Architecture Blueprints, Design Specifications, and technical documentation.
- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Drive architectural best practices across development and platform teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Technical Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Software Architecture.
- Strong expertise in Distributed Systems and SaaS Architecture.
- Deep knowledge of Data Platforms and Analytics Architecture.
- Strong understanding of large-scale data processing and real-time analytics.
- Hands-on experience with one or more messaging/streaming platforms:
- Apache Kafka
- AWS Kinesis
- Google Pub/Sub
- Experience with Data Lake technologies such as:
- AWS S3
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
- Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
- Delta Lake / Apache Iceberg / Apache Hudi
- Experience with columnar/analytical databases such as:
- BigQuery
- Amazon Redshift
- Snowflake
- ClickHouse
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as:
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- DynamoDB
- HBase
- Experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and its data/compute services.
- Strong understanding of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, APIs, and Cloud-Native Architecture.
- Experience designing systems for high availability, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Strong technical documentation and architecture visualization skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with large-scale analytics or data-intensive SaaS products.
- Experience with high-throughput and low-latency systems.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and containerized environments.
- Experience with performance optimization and cloud cost optimization.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams.
Experience
10+ years of experience in software/solution architecture, distributed systems, data engineering, cloud architecture, or related areas, with significant experience designing large-scale enterprise platforms.
