Role Description
1. Process Control & Improvement
- Lead and manage day-to-day process engineering activities on the production floor.
- Establish, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes (SMT/Assembly/Repair as applicable).
- Analyze process data (Yield, FPY, Rejection %, OEE) and drive improvement actions.
- Prepare and update SOPs, WI, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
- Ensure smooth change management and version control in processes.
2. New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead engineering readiness for new models/products.
- Conduct DFM, DFA reviews and coordinate with R&D, QA, and production teams.
- Validate new fixtures, jigs, tooling, and equipment before mass production.
- Oversee engineering trial runs (Proto, Pilot, Mass Production).
3. Quality & Problem Solving
- Lead root cause analysis for process defects using 8D, Fishbone, Why-Why, DMAIC.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and sustained.
- Support QA team for major customer complaint handling and audits.
- Monitor SPC parameters and maintain process stability.
4. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a team of process engineers/technicians.
- Assign tasks, review performance, and provide technical training.
- Ensure team follows safety, process discipline, and company policies.
- Build strong coordination with Production, QA, Maintenance, and Planning.
5. Equipment & Material Handling
- Ensure all machines, tools, and fixtures are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Drive automation opportunities to reduce manpower and improve productivity.
- Validate material/BOM changes and ensure process compatibility.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare all necessary engineering documents, reports, and dashboards.
- Maintain process KPIs and present them in weekly/monthly review meetings.
- Manage engineering change notes (ECN/ECR) system.
🔹 Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (SMT, Assembly, Testing, Packaging).
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Kanban).
- Expertise in statistical analysis, DOE, SPC, Minitab preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and RCA methodology knowledge.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
