Role Description The System Administrator will manage and maintain the institution’s IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network devices, ensuring stable and secure operations. Daily responsibilities include monitoring system performance, performing regular updates and backups, managing user accounts and access permissions, and enforcing security policies. The role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, providing technical support to faculty, staff, and students, and coordinating with external vendors when needed. The System Administrator will also contribute to planning and implementing improvements to the IT environment, documenting procedures, and ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Holy Grace Academy of Engineering in Thrissur.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in System Administration and Information Technology for managing servers, operating systems, and institutional IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues for users.
- Competence in Network Administration for configuring, monitoring, and securing LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and related networking equipment.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, backup strategies, and access control.
- Experience with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and standard productivity and educational software.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with academic and administrative teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft, Cisco) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an educational or institutional environment is beneficial.
