Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Student Counselor role based in Kochi, with some flexibility for work from home. The Student Counselor will guide prospective students through the study abroad process, including understanding their academic background, interests, and career goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and programs. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions (in-person and virtual), explaining admission and visa requirements, assisting with documentation, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely application processing. The role also involves responding to student and family queries, maintaining accurate records of interactions and progress, and participating in outreach activities such as information sessions or webinars. The Student Counselor is expected to provide clear, ethical, and student-centric advice while meeting individual and team targets.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to guide learners in selecting appropriate courses and destinations.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written communication for interacting with students, families, and partner institutions.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service abilities, with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and maintaining professional relationships.
- Candidates should possess a good understanding of Education systems and admission processes in major study destinations.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (such as Education, Psychology, Business, or related field) preferred.
- Prior experience in student counseling, overseas education consulting, or academic advising is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setting, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and use digital tools (CRM, online meeting platforms, office applications).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical, student-first counseling.
