Role Description The Store Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for supporting day-to-day store and inventory operations. Key tasks include receiving, checking, and organizing incoming materials, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring proper labeling and storage. The role involves assisting with order preparation, issuing materials to internal teams, and coordinating with purchasing and logistics as needed. The Store Assistant will help maintain cleanliness and safety in the store area, support basic documentation and reporting, and provide courteous service to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong communication skills to interact clearly with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess customer service and retail sales skills to handle inquiries, support material requests, and assist in store-related transactions.
- Candidates should possess organization skills to manage inventory, maintain records, and keep the store area orderly.
- Candidates should possess training capabilities to support onboarding of new team members and share basic store procedures.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management or storekeeping practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, follow safety guidelines, and perform manual handling tasks as required.
- Familiarity with computers and simple data entry (e.g., spreadsheets or inventory software) is an advantage.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; prior experience in a store, warehouse, or retail environment is a plus.
