Role Purpose
We are looking for a Storage & Backup Engineer – L1 to provide first-level monitoring and operational support for enterprise storage and backup infrastructure. The role involves ensuring backup success, storage availability, timely troubleshooting, and escalation of critical issues to L2/OEM teams.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech/BCA/MCA in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in storage, backup, NOC, or IT infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor SAN/NAS storage infrastructure, including capacity, performance, and overall health.
- Perform L1 troubleshooting of storage alerts and incidents.
- Monitor Commvault, Veeam, or equivalent backup platforms and daily backup jobs.
- Re-run failed backup jobs as per approved procedures and monitor repository capacity.
- Perform basic backup restoration activities and support recovery testing.
- Escalate critical storage and backup issues to L2/OEM teams within defined timelines.
- Maintain daily backup and storage reports, schedules, inventory, and configuration documentation.
- Follow established incident, change, escalation, and operational procedures.
- Provide support for Disaster Recovery (DR) activities as required.
