Job details:
We are looking for a Senior Engineer with 5-15 years of professional software engineering experience to design, build and operate dependable backend systems. You will bring deep TypeScript and Node.js expertise, hands-on NestJS experience, and strong judgment across APIs, databases, delivery pipelines and production operations.
Responsibilities
● Own backend services end to end. Design, implement, review, deploy and support production services using TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS.
● Build secure, well-governed APIs. Create REST APIs with clear resource models, robust validation, JWT-based authentication, and accurate OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
● Shape scalable architecture. Evolve monorepo structures across applications and shared libraries, define clean service boundaries, and select appropriate microservice communication patterns.
● Engineer data access for performance. Design schemas and migrations, tune ORM usage, and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL/Redshift queries through indexing, explain plans and measured profiling.
● Collaborate on the presentation layer, building clean, performant and reusable frontend components using Vue 3 and TypeScript.
● Raise delivery quality. Strengthen Docker multi-stage builds, containerized deployments, GitHub Actions pipelines and SonarQube quality gates.
● Make systems observable. Instrument critical paths with OpenTelemetry and use Jaeger and Sentry to identify, isolate and resolve reliability or performance issues.
● Build a balanced test strategy. Create maintainable Jest and Supertest suites with clear separation across unit, integration, end-to-end and business-level tests; use DB mocking such as Prismock where appropriate.
● Operate with production discipline. Protect live data through careful read-only investigation patterns, safe Prisma migrations, controlled releases and thoughtful rollback planning.
● Improve the codebase continuously. Work confidently in legacy areas, reduce technical risk incrementally, contribute constructive code reviews and help establish pragmatic engineering standards.
● Partner across functions. Translate product needs into sound technical designs, estimate and sequence delivery in Agile workflows, and collaborate through Jira and PR-driven execution.
Required Qualifications
● 5-15 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 5 years of substantial hands-on development with TypeScript and Node.js.
● Hands-on experience with Vue 2 and/or Vue 3 to contribute to frontend development when needed.
● Production experience with NestJS, including modular application design, dependency injection, validation, error handling and maintainable service patterns.
● Strong REST API design skills, with practical experience in OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, versioning, authentication and secure JWT-based access patterns.
● Sound backend architecture judgment, including monorepos organized around applications and reusable libraries, microservice boundaries, contracts and inter-service communication.
● At least 4 years of relational database experience across MySQL and PostgreSQL and/or Redshift, including schema design and operational troubleshooting.
● Strong ORM experience, preferably Prisma, covering schema modeling, migrations, data access patterns and performance tuning.
● A working knowledge of AWS services (such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, or similar) is expected to support deployment, monitoring, and cloud-based application development
● Experience with automated CI/CD, particularly Docker, GitHub Actions, and familiarity with static analysis and SonarQube quality gates.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
● AdTech domain knowledge. Understanding of campaigns, advertisers, performance metrics, reporting and attribution concepts.
● Analytical data platforms. Experience with data warehouses such as Databricks or Redshift and workloads that combine transactional and analytical access patterns.
● External API consumption. Experience using GraphQL as a client when integrating with third-party platforms.
