Purpose of the Job
As Senior Manager/Manager in the office of the board member for SCM, IT, Procurement and digital transformation within the ZEISS business unit Vision Care, you will be responsible for a challenging range of duties requiring you to work with all levels of the organization incl. board members across a broad range of topics in Supply Chain, IT, Procurement and Digitalization. Specifically, you will be driving and coordinating strategic initiatives in the business unit Vision Care in close alignment with corporate initiatives and will be working closely with the board member on strategic and operational topics.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Drive key initiatives in Supply Chain, IT, Procurement and Digitalization by compiling analyses, developing concepts, preparing strategic decisions and Management Board resolutions, and preparing and following up of key meetings
- Support the strategy development process for Supply Chain, IT, Procurement and Digitalization
- Drive execution and governance of strategic initiatives across the Board area, ensuring cross-functional alignment, proactive risk management, and timely delivery of key priorities
- Develop high-impact executive communications, including Board presentations, leadership updates, strategic messaging, and management communications
- Act as the central coordination point between the Board Member and senior leadership, driving cross-functional alignment and enabling effective decision-making
- Drive operational follow-up and coordination across the Board area and VPs, including tracking and following up on agreed actions, deadlines and deliverables, ensuring accountability and timely closure of open topics
- Drive organizational and leadership development initiatives across senior leaders
- Build a strong global network and trustful relationships across the ZEISS Group and set the foundation for a potentially outstanding career path
Requirements:
- A degree with excellent grades from a leading university preferably in engineering, business, or (business) informatics, paired with a passion for SCM, IT, Procurement and digitalization
- At least 5 years of professional experience and proven track record in Supply Chain or IT and Digitalization with strong exposure to strategic topics – preferably in a leading management or IT consultancy
- Several years’ experience in running complex cross-functional processes or projects with a high number of stakeholders with proven success in lateral leadership.
- Strong moderation, presentation, and communication skills (both orally and written)
- Well-structured and self-organized way of working paired with strong process-discipline
- Strong analytical competence, strategic thinking, business acumen and hands-on, target-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also enjoying cross-functional teams
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and uncertain environment
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills paired with strong analytical mindset
- Excellent follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- International experience and fluency in English , basic knowledge of German appreciated
- Readiness for regular business travel to Germany
