Job details:
This is a rare ground-floor opportunity to build our global, finance-led business intelligence function and the data infrastructure behind it from scratch. As one of the first members of a brand-new team, you won’t just run an existing operation; you’ll shape the practice, standards, and platform — anchored in Finance and extending across Operations, Sales, and HR — that the entire company, including our regional subsidiaries, will depend on, with your ideas feeding directly into our BI roadmap. Partnering with US-based leadership across time zones, you’ll drive reporting from intake to production, grow a small analytics team, and set the standard for what “great” looks like — a player-coach who stays hands-on in the data models and DAX while bringing the curiosity and creative problem-solving to build things that don’t exist here yet.
What You’ll Do
- Help build the finance-led BI & Analytics practice from the ground up — its team, standards, and data infrastructure, with your ideas feeding directly into the BI roadmap.
- Make the foundational architecture and tooling choices for a greenfield reporting platform the function will scale on for years.
- Drive day-to-day delivery of the dashboard and reporting queue — from intake to production — across project profitability, utilization, pipeline, and FP&A.
- Manage and develop the analytics team, setting expectations, reviewing work, and coaching.
- Own production quality and reliability — make sure dashboards and reports are accurate, refresh dependably, and ship on schedule.
- Run intake and delivery: scope incoming requests, sequence the work against leadership’s priorities, and manage stakeholder expectations on timelines and trade-offs.
- Enforce data modeling standards (star schema design, naming conventions, DAX patterns) and data quality practices across the team’s reporting.
- Drive data quality at the source by working with owners of CRM, project/time-tracking, finance/ERP, and resourcing systems on issues like ownership gaps, duplicate records, and date integrity.
What Success Looks Like In 12 Months
- The BI platform is the company’s trusted single source of truth.
- Standards are documented and delivery runs on a steady cadence.
- The team has grown and levels up under your coaching.
- Your roadmap shapes decisions across Finance, Operations, Sales, and HR.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data-driven reporting, including 3+ years leading teams or owning end-to-end delivery.
- Deep expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M), with the ability to review, coach, and elevate technical work.
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of modern data platforms, including cloud data warehouses and ELT tooling.
- Proven success managing development roadmaps and reporting pipelines, balancing stakeholder priorities while delivering accurate, timely outputs.
- Strong understanding of financial and operational metrics, including project profitability, utilization and capacity, pipeline performance, revenue forecasting, and FP&A.
- Experience integrating data across multiple systems, business units, legal entities, or regions into a consistent enterprise reporting framework.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable business insights.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve analytics, reporting, or BI development workflows.
- Curious, creative, and comfortable operating in ambiguity, with a track record of building scalable solutions rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
Nice to have
- Experience in a project-based / professional-services environment (project accounting, revenue recognition, margin, utilization).
- Familiarity with CRM (HubSpot or similar) and Workday (project/time-tracking, and finance/ERP data).
- Familiarity with the modern data stack (warehouse, dbt, ELT) and data governance practices.
- Python for reconciliation and validation.
