Job Description – Sr. Design Engineer Telecommunications
Reporting Line Department Manager, Department PMO
Qualification
- Bachelor BE Electronics & Communications (preferred) or any other engineering discipline (Mandatory)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Mandatory) and AutoCAD (preferred though not mandatory)
- Excellent spoken and written English (Mandatory)
- Technical Certifications (Preferable)
Work Experience
5-8 years Minimum experience, preferably Oil & Gas
Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparation of Telecommunication Engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for various Telecommunication Systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets. Previous experience in Oil & Gas Telecom/IT projects engineering works shall be an added advantage.
- Perform Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity / Bandwidth Calculations,
- Preparation of Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load Calculations
- Develop Telecommunication Systems Functional Design Specs, VDRL etc
- Provide engineering input to draftsmen/designers including Device Location Plans, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument/Device Installation Details, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Circuit & Connection Diagrams, , Cable Block Diagrams and MDF / IDF Schematics, FO Allocation Diagrams, Device and Equipment Schedules etc for them to generate the respective drawings.
- Co-ordinate with other disciplines and review of other discipline deliverables.
- Review site survey reports and capture all engineering related points from the same
- Attend interface meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed engineering documentation including drawings, configuration, and calculations.
- Maintain an understanding of contract scope and proactively identify variation requests to support contract claims.
- Prepare projects scopes, budget development, schedules as well as site supervision
- Coordinate on project documents such as RFIs, ITRs Submittals, Change Orders, etc.
- Develop preliminary studies, cost estimates and control documents.
- Responsible for conducting site surveys to incorporating on final drawings.
- Supervise site progress on Air Reports and Site Acceptance and prepare weekly update for the teams’ accomplishments and site status.
- Coordinate and supervise work of outside consultants and monitors contractual work during site inspection thereby providing a high level of technical or engineering expertise to ensure telecommunications technology aids in the achievement of organizational goals.
