Job Description – Application Engineer (PLC Programming)
Designation: Sr. Application Engineer – PLC Programming
Location: Noida
Experience: 6–8 Years
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer – PLC Programming with strong expertise in PLC programming, HMI programming, robotics, and industrial automation. The candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, commissioning, and supporting industrial automation systems.
The Application Engineer will act as a bridge between customer requirements and automated machine/process control solutions, ensuring that automation applications are developed, tested, and delivered as per customer expectations.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong experience in PLC Programming.
- Hands-on experience in HMI Programming.
- Experience in Robotics and Automation Industry.
- Knowledge of establishing communication protocols between PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots.
- Experience in application development in LabVIEW environment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and electrical application schematics.
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, BOM preparation, and interfacing diagrams.
- Understanding of application design, manufacturing requirements, and interfacing.
- Ability to select appropriate controllers for complete application design while optimizing cost.
- Experience in developing application programming blocks and implementing programmed solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Program Robots, PLCs, and HMIs as per application requirements.
- Establish communication protocols and interfaces with industrial robots.
- Develop programming for the required application as per customer solution expectations.
- Carry out application development in LabVIEW environment.
- Prepare application schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Prepare SolidWorks Electrical BOMs and interfacing diagrams.
- Identify and address design and manufacturing issues during application development.
- Prepare application Operation and Programming Manuals to be supplied with the application.
- Select the right controllers required for complete application design while minimizing overall cost.
- Develop application programming blocks and prepare the required programmed solutions.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliable automation performance.
- Prepare final QA, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) reports for customer acceptance.
- Support application commissioning and resolve technical issues during implementation.
- Work closely with customers, engineering, production, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution.

Experience
6–8 years of relevant experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, robotics, HMI programming, and application engineering.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in industrial automation applications, PLC/HMI/Robot programming, communication protocols, application development, troubleshooting, FAT/SAT, and commissioning. The candidate should be capable of independently handling application development from understanding customer requirements through programming, testing, documentation, and successful implementation.
