Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Speech Language Pathologist based in Kollam. The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in individuals across different age groups, using evidence-based therapy approaches. Daily responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate documentation of assessments, progress, and outcomes. The role involves collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to support communication goals and functional improvements. The Speech Language Pathologist will also provide education and counseling on communication strategies, monitor treatment effectiveness, and participate in program development aligned with Thanal’s mission of community empowerment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Speech Therapy and management of Speech and Communication Disorders.
- Experience assessing and treating Language Disorders, including receptive and expressive language challenges.
- Knowledge and clinical experience in managing Dysphagia and related swallowing difficulties.
- Recognized degree in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology & Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid professional registration or licensure as required by local regulations.
- Strong observational, diagnostic, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and caregivers.
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and client-centered care.
- Prior experience in community-based or NGO settings is an advantage.
