Role Description The Space Educator will deliver engaging astronomy and space science sessions to school students and other learner groups through interactive classes, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. This full-time, on-site role is based in Dwarka and involves designing and conducting lessons, workshops, and events that align with SPACE’s curriculum and educational standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, operating basic astronomical instruments (such as telescopes), guiding students through experiments and observations, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment. The Space Educator will collaborate with academic and program teams to refine content, support outreach initiatives, and provide feedback on learner progress. The role also includes occasional participation in camps, night sky observation sessions, and school events, as well as maintaining accurate records of sessions and participant engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience delivering concepts in astronomy, space science, or STEM subjects.
- Demonstrated Lesson Planning and Training abilities to design structured, age-appropriate activities and workshops.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear classroom facilitation and the ability to engage diverse learner groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, Astronomy, Physics, or a related field; advanced certifications in STEM education are an advantage.
- Comfort with using educational technology, basic scientific instruments, and visual aids for demonstrations.
- Ability to work on-site in Dwarka, manage groups of learners safely, and collaborate with school staff and internal teams.
- Prior experience in experiential learning, science outreach, or curriculum implementation is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for promoting scientific curiosity among young learners.
