We are looking for a Solar Project Engineer – Installation & Commissioning to drive the execution of a large-scale solar installation project.
The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising solar PV installation activities at various project sites. While the candidate will not necessarily perform the physical installation, they will be responsible for ensuring that installation teams and contractors execute the work correctly, safely, on schedule, and as per project requirements.
This is a field-oriented project execution role requiring strong coordination, basic technical knowledge of solar PV systems, and the ability to take ownership of site-level execution from installation through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise solar PV installation activities across multiple sites.
- Plan and monitor site-wise installation schedules and project progress.
- Coordinate with installation teams, subcontractors, vendors, electricians, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, cables, earthing, protection systems and other components are installed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the quality of installation work and identify/correct deviations.
- Ensure proper electrical connections, cable routing, earthing and safety practices are followed.
- Coordinate site readiness before installation activities begin.
- Track material requirements and coordinate with the concerned teams to ensure materials are available at site.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of solar PV systems.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of technical/site issues during installation and commissioning.
- Maintain site-wise progress reports, checklists, photographs, commissioning records and other project documentation.
- Coordinate inspection, testing, snag rectification and project handover.
- Ensure projects are completed within the planned timelines and quality standards.
- Regularly visit project sites and provide updates to management on progress, challenges and requirements.
- Coordinate with site authorities/site representatives wherever required.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety and site safety procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma qualification in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics, Renewable Energy or a related technical discipline.
- Basic to good knowledge of Solar PV systems and installation practices.
- Understanding of solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, earthing and electrical protection systems.
- Ability to understand basic electrical/solar drawings and installation layouts.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to multiple project sites.
- Ability to manage installation teams and contractors at site.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets and project documentation.
