We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer III (Backend) who can design and build highly scalable systems while driving engineering excellence across teams.

- Lead architecture and design of large-scale backend systems and platform services.
- Drive technical decision-making, design reviews and architecture discussions.
- Define engineering standards, best practices and coding guidelines across teams.
- Identify and resolve scalability, reliability and performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Own technical roadmaps for critical systems and services.
- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure and fault-tolerant backend services.
- Optimise system performance, latency, throughput, and infrastructure efficiency.
- Lead implementation of mission-critical projects from conception to production.

- 5 - 10 years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems in a startup
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a tier-1 institute (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working in fast-growing startups or consumer internet companies is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in building scalable services using Node.js and/or Python; language-agnostic mindset preferred.
- Expertise in designing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-streaming platforms.
