Job details:
Social Media Manager (fintech experience preferred)
We treat social as an editorial job. The person in this role will run social for some of the biggest BFSI brands in the industry, deciding what gets made, how it looks and sounds, when it goes out and who it reaches, in a category where most feeds are hard to tell apart.
We are looking for someone who notices small things: a line that lands, a frame that sits right, a reference that felt fresh six months ago and is now everywhere, a format that hardly anyone is using well yet.
You spend real time on the internet and have opinions about it, so you can tell a trend worth using from one that will date the work within a fortnight. You are as comfortable arguing over a crop or a caption as you are reading a dashboard and telling us what the numbers mean.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Strategy- Own social across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and X, and know that what works on one may look completely wrong on another.
- Know the audience beyond a deck. What they actually read, watch, save, share, ignore and roll their eyes at.
- Run the content calendar end to end across ideas, campaigns, recurring formats, topical moments, publishing and final checks before anything goes live.
- Work closely with writers, designers and editors. You should be able to spot when the copy is flat, the visual feels dated, the pacing is off, or the music is doing too much.
- Stay close to what is changing online, creators, formats, platform behaviour, internet culture. Not to jump on everything, but to know what is already over and what still has life in it.
- Keep a sharp eye on competitors and the category, mostly to figure out where everyone is starting to look the same.
- Keep testing. Hooks, formats, timing, creative treatments. Social should get smarter every month, not just busier.
- Track performance properly across reach, engagement, saves, shares, watch time, retention, growth, CTR, traffic and conversions. Use GA4, UTMs and native analytics, and come back with a point of view on what worked, what did not, and what we should change.
Qualifications- 2–5 years of experience in social media, content or digital marketing.
- Hands-on experience managing brand social accounts.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong understanding of major social platforms and their native formats.
- Experience with analytics, reporting and performance tracking.
- Experience briefing designers, writers and video editors.
- Strong attention to detail and creative judgement.
Experience managing BFSI brands across mutual funds, fintech, banking, wealth, insurance or investing is a strong plus.
What We Care About
- Taste. You should consume things beyond marketing Twitter: good advertising, magazines, cinema, album rollouts, fashion campaigns, photography, design, memes, creator culture and the stranger corners of the internet. Your references should show up in the work.
- Audience instinct. “25-40, metro, affluent” tells us almost nothing. You should want to know what they read, who they follow, what they aspire to, what they send their friends and what makes them roll their eyes.
- Culture radar. Know what people are talking about, what creators are experimenting with, which formats are getting tired, which visual styles are everywhere, and which jokes have already had their moment.
- An eye for the small stuff. The first frame, the crop, the font, the caption, the song, the thumbnail, the line break. None of it is “just execution.”
- Commercial sense. Not every post needs to sell something. But every post should have a job, reach, trust, education, engagement, consideration or conversion.
