Role Description The Site Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Site Engineer will oversee daily construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure that work is executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Responsibilities include coordinating with civil engineers, contractors, and vendors, resolving technical issues at the site, and maintaining accurate records of work, materials, and inspections. The Site Engineer will perform routine quality checks, assist in structural assessments, and support project planning and scheduling. This role requires regular reporting to project leads and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to keep projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Strong on-site project execution skills, including supervision of day-to-day site activities and adherence to safety practices.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, and for preparing clear reports and documentation.
- Experience in quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and compliance with relevant standards and codes.
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles and their application in construction, including reading and interpreting structural drawings.
- Background in civil engineering, with the ability to collaborate effectively with civil engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic engineering and site management software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD or similar tools) is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai on a full-time basis, managing multiple tasks and priorities under project timelines.
