Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Engineer role based in Jamshedpur. The Service Engineer will perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CNC machine tools and related equipment at customer locations, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime. Daily activities include diagnosing technical issues, executing corrective and preventive maintenance, providing on-site technical support, and documenting service activities and reports in a clear and timely manner. The role involves close interaction with customers to understand issues, explain recommended solutions, and support safe operation of equipment, while coordinating with internal teams for spare parts, escalation of complex problems, and continuous improvement. The Service Engineer is expected to follow all safety and quality standards, contribute to customer training when needed, and uphold BFW’s commitment to high service reliability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose faults, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions on CNC and related systems.
- Hands-on Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and customer-facing service activities for industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, with a focus on preventive maintenance and minimizing downtime.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with customers, preparing service reports, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with CNC machine tools, industrial automation, and safety practices in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics; basic knowledge of CNC controls is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites within the region and work flexible hours
