Role Purpose:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in server architecture, VMWare virtualization, Active Directory, Server patching, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and cloud infrastructure management.
Responsible for maintaining, improving, and scaling our server environments to ensure seamless operations and a top-tier user experience.
Need to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including0020network engineers, and application administrators, to ensure the stability and performance of our server infrastructure. will also mentor junior engineers and help drive best practices in server management.
Key Responsibilities:
Server Infrastructure Management:
- Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter components.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize virtual machine performance.
- System Administration: Manage Windows/Linux server environments, including patching, Active Directory, and hardware
- Monitor server health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues.
- Perform capacity planning and optimize server configurations to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Working knowledge on Storage devices like Netapp and Data Domain.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement security best practices to ensure servers are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Regularly apply patches and updates to the operating system and applications.
Disaster Recovery & Backup:
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions and data backup strategies to ensure high uptime and data integrity.
- Regularly test recovery processes to ensure readiness in case of system failures.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive server configuration and troubleshooting documentation.
- Keep clear records of server changes, updates, and incident resolutions.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
- Mentor junior engineers and assist with technical problem-solving.
- Provide guidance on server-related issues and architecture decisions.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a server engineer, system administrator, or similar role.
- Proven experience in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Strong Experience with Active Directory and Windows server environments
