About PlayShifu
PlayShifu is one of the fastest-growing toy companies from India. Today we operate in 30+ countries and work with some of the biggest retailers on the planet. We are entering our next phase of growth, and we're looking for a sales leader who can open up new channels and build them into meaningful revenue streams.
About the Role
You will own the creation of new growth channels for PlayShifu across multiple markets. Working closely with the Head of Sales & BD, you will identify untapped channels, test and validate them, and scale the ones that work. This role suits someone who has sold physical products and has built new routes to market, whether new retail formats, distributors, e-commerce platforms or institutional and specialty partners. You should be able to adapt your approach to different buyer types, channel structures and commercial models.
What You'll Do
- Identify and evaluate new sales channels and partner types, and build the business case for each.
- Build and run a strong pipeline of new partners, including distributors, retail chains, e-commerce platforms, and specialty or institutional buyers.
- Plan and execute channel launches and market-entry strategies, covering pricing, trade terms, margins and go-to-market plans.
- Lead negotiations and commercial discussions through to signed partnerships and first orders.
- Own a new-business revenue target, with accurate forecasting and CRM discipline.
- Work with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing and Product on onboarding, order fulfilment, inventory planning, in-store visibility and launches.
- Track the performance and profitability of each new channel, and double down or exit based on the data.
- Turn what works in one channel or market into a repeatable playbook for others.
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- 8+ years in sales or business development, including 3+ years in a senior individual-contributor or team-lead role.
- Proven experience selling physical products (hard goods): toys, consumer electronics, FMCG, durables, stationery, lifestyle or similar.
- A track record of opening new accounts or channels from scratch, such as new distributors, retailers, e-commerce partners or a new category.
- Working knowledge of distributor and retail models, including trade terms, margins and sell-through.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A data-driven approach, with comfort in forecasting, pipeline reviews and P&L-aware decisions.
- Versatility: you can adapt your selling style across different types of markets, buyers and channel structures.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Good to have:
- Experience launching a brand or category in a new market.
- Background in toys, kids' products, consumer tech or educational products.
- Experience working with large, organised retailers or national and regional distributors.
What We Offer
- Direct work with senior leadership shaping PlayShifu's growth strategy.
- Ownership of a high-impact, greenfield charter at a company growing fast from India onto the global stage.
- A clear path to larger responsibilities as the new channels scale.
