Senior QA Automation Engineer (Selenium & Playwright)

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in test automation to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Selenium automation and hands-on knowledge of Playwright. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while ensuring high product quality across web applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test frameworks using Selenium.
Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Work with Playwright to build and enhance modern UI automation suites.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams for resolution.
Improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and overall automation practices.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release activities.
Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
Required Skills
5–8 years of experience in Software Testing and QA Automation.
Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
Working knowledge of Playwright.
Proficiency in Java or Python for automation scripting.
Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or similar testing frameworks.
Good understanding of API testing using Postman or Rest Assured.
Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and defect lifecycle.
Experience in cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Exposure to SQL and database validation.
Experience testing microservices-based applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ISTQB certification is a plus.
