Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to manage the end-to-end procurement process for materials, equipment, and services supporting our power transmission and distribution projects. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Navsari, ideal for a procurement professional who combines technical fluency with strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in line with project and technical requirements
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and evaluate technical and commercial bids
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors
- Create, issue, and track purchase orders through to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines
- Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align procurement decisions with technical specifications, budgets, and schedules
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery quality on an ongoing basis
- Analyze cost and bid data to support informed, data-driven purchasing decisions
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including delivery delays and quality non-conformance
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, policies, and strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or an equivalent technical qualification
- Several years of procurement experience within EPC projects, preferably in power transmission and distribution
- Strong supplier management capabilities, including experience in supplier evaluation and performance monitoring
- Proficiency in procurement operations, including RFQ preparation and purchase order management across the project lifecycle
- Well-developed analytical skills for cost analysis, bid comparison, and data-driven decision-making
- Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, commercial terms, and basic contract management principles
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder coordination and reporting
- Proficiency with ERP/procurement software and standard office productivity tools
- Ability to work on-site in Navsari, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet project deadlines
