Role Description This is a full-time, remote Senior Power BI Developer role within the Data & Analytics team. The person in this role will design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to technical, operational, and leadership stakeholders in the mining domain. Daily responsibilities include gathering and refining requirements, modeling data, and integrating multiple data sources into robust semantic models that support self-service analytics. The Senior Power BI Developer will implement and optimize data warehousing and ETL processes, ensure data quality, and apply strong analytical skills to transform complex datasets into clear, visual narratives. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting solutions, mentoring others on BI best practices, and continuously improving performance and usability of analytics assets.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Data Modeling skills, including designing efficient schemas and building robust semantic models for Power BI.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Dashboard development, including interactive visualizations, report optimization, and user-centric design in Power BI.
- Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills, including translating business questions into data solutions and interpreting trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Candidates should possess experience with Data Warehousing concepts and architectures, including star/snowflake schemas and integration of multiple data sources.
- Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including data integration, cleansing, transformation, and automation.
- Proficiency with Power BI (DAX, Power Query), SQL, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or similar) is highly beneficial.
- Background in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment and present technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in mining, resources, or industrial sectors, and familiarity with operational and financial metrics used in mining, are advantageous.
